Overview

Katelyn McDowell is an associate attorney working in the firm’s Drug and Medical Device Litigation practice group. Prior to joining Weitz & Luxenberg, Ms. McDowell was an associate attorney representing plaintiffs and medical providers in Michigan’s No-Fault litigation cases.

Ms. McDowell received her J.D. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She interned during law school with the Honorable Lita Popke at Wayne County Third Circuit Court. She trained as a civil mediator and worked with parties resolving cases at the district court level. She also received academic recognition for her studies in Conflicts of Law. During law school and college, Ms. McDowell volunteered with organizations at Wayne County Third Circuit Court and Oakland County Circuit Court, which provided support and court protection to survivors of domestic violence. She graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, with a bachelor of arts in psychology.

Ms. McDowell is admitted to practice in the state courts of Michigan, and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Detroit Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, and Woman Lawyers Association of Michigan.

Outside of work, Ms. McDowell enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending quality time with family and friends.
